Water levels continue to drop, but we are still high for this time of the summer.  Lake surface temps continue to rise and are getting in the upper 60’s and low 70’s on sunny days.  Still cool for this time in July especially compared to the last two years where we were pushing 80 degree temps.  The weedy bays have good weed growth and the deeper water cabbage tips are starting to show up.  The high water has definitely impeded the deeper weed growth so far.  We should have all the weed growth back to normal in a week or two.

Fishing continues to be amazing.  The lake trout are still shallow and can still be caught casting.  Walleye fishing in our portage lakes is incredible with non stop action to those who want to hike the short portages.  Smallmouth Bass are on the rocks and Largemouth Bass are attacking Muskie lures.

Muskie fishing has been great.  Again some big fish are showing up and our guests are getting a consistent bite (see pics below).  Fish of all sizes are being caught and released.   Multiple fish days are common and lots of fish following to the boat.  Things are heating up here at the end of July and our second half of the season should make for some awesome fishing…Stay tuned!
